Tirano is a Italian town of 8 880 inhabitants of the province of Sondrio in Lombardy . It rises at an altitude of 450 m and is surrounded by mountains: to the south the Orobie Alps valtellinesi, to the north the Bernina massif and to the north-east that of Stelvio . The town is located near the confluence of the rivers Adda And Poschiavino and of the valleys in which these flow, respectively Valtellina and the Val Poschiavo , the latter almost entirely located in Switzerland.
The importance of the geographic location of the center, which prompted Ludovico il Moro to fortify the inhabited area, it was able to guarantee a certain well-being, as evidenced by the beautiful noble palaces erected between XVI And 17th century .
It is also renowned for the presence of a Marian sanctuary located in the northern part of the town.
TEMPUS FUGIT AMOR MANET is a photographic project on the city where I grew up, in which the real protagonist is time: the time of history, of memories, of the seasons, of the shadows that stretch over a dry stone wall.
